Little Feet

Here we go again.
Where? I cannot say.
She takes us everywhere
That she wants to play.
And, off we go!
Thud. Thud. Thud.
We almost tripped that time.
We almost always do.
And, left before right.
Or is it right before left?
Can we move both together?
CRASH! That’s a no!
Curious, she pats us.
She pokes us and stares.
Then, it’s thud, thud, thud.
We are walking again.
Thud. Trip. Thud.
Hands. Balance. Fall.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
Why can’t we crawl?
And then it’s a BANG!
Two giant tears from her eyes.
“We will try harder.”
But, she sits there and cries.
“Don’t cry little baby,
 Little feet will get bigger.
And we will be better.
We’ll learn it together.
And, you will go places.
Meant just for you.
Little feet will get bigger.
And, we will be better.”
So, here we go!
Thud. Thud. Thud.
Tears become smiles.
These little feet will go miles.
